In the wonderful world of children's stories, some of our favourite characters have not been people, but CATS! International Cat Day! Here's a look at some of the most iconic cat characters from children's stories.

The Cat in the Hat
Perhaps the most famous literary cat of all is Dr. Seuss's Cat in the Hat. This tall, cheeky cat is a master of mischief and rhyme. He brings chaos and fun to a dreary day for two children, teaching them a valuable lesson about responsibility and imagination.
The movie version is a huge favourite in the studio.
🎵There was a cat I knew, back home where I was breed, who didn't listen to a single thing his mother said!
He didn't use his litter box and made a mess in the hall... 🎵

Puss in Boots
Best known for his r̶o̶l̶e̶ ̶i̶n̶ ̶a̶ ̶h̶i̶t̶ ̶b̶l̶o̶c̶k̶b̶u̶s̶t̶e̶r̶ ̶m̶o̶v̶i̶e̶ stylish boots, he has been a star of folklore and fairy tales for centuries. Puss in Boots uses his wit and charm to woo the crowds.

The Cheshire Cat
From Lewis Carroll's Alice's Adventures in Wonderland, the Cheshire Cat is a mysterious cat-racter known for his wide, mischievous grin, cryptic messages and ability to disappear and reappear at will.

Tabby McTat
Created by author Julia Donaldson and illustrator Axel Scheffler, Tabby McTat is a busker's cat who loves singing along with his owner, Fred. Their happy life is disrupted when they become separated, and the story follows their heartwarming journey to be reunited.
These are just a few examples of the many wonderful cats who have won the hearts of adults and children alike on the pages of children's books.
